Honeysuckle Cottage is a brick built terraced cottage in Acreman Street, Cerne Abbas, which is the A352 Dorchester to Sherborne road.

Arrival & Car Parking
Parking is available immediately outside the cottage on the A352. There is no off-street parking available.
The front door of the cottage is housed in a wooden porch which is 33” (84cm) wide and 72½” (1084 cm) high. The keyholes are 33” (84cm) and 39” (99cm) above the ground. A key safe 54” (137cm) over ground level is affixed to the left hand wall. This contains the keys to the property. Guests are advised of the code to the safe prior to arrival. The front door is 33¾” (86cm) wide and 71” (180cm) high. The hinge is on the right. The front door leads directly into the Sitting Room.
Living Room
There is a 1” (2.5cm) step down from the front door into the Sitting Room of the cottage. There is a light switch to the left of the front door 46” (117cm) above floor level which controls the wall mounted lights. There
is also a standard lamp with a switch 50” (127cm) above floor level.
The beige carpet has light brown rugs placed over it. There are two two-seater sofas and a small low chair. The log burner is situated in an inglenook fireplace. In front of the fireplace is a 1” (2.5cm) raised brick ledge. The burner itself is within the fireplace a further 6” (15cm) above the brick ledge. A full set of fire tools are provided for use with the burner.
There is a television with a built-in dvd player which can be remotely controlled. A small selection of dvd’s are available. A storage box, 15” (38cm) high, in the centre of the room acts as a coffee table. The main fuse box is situated 72” (183cm) above floor level on the wall near to the light switch. An under-stair cupboard provides ample storage space for coats and boots. A central heating radiator is fixed to the wall. The wooden staircase leads from the Sitting Room leads to the upstairs rooms. Between the staircase and the table supporting the television there is an 8” (20cm) step up into the Dining Room/Kitchen. This door is 33” (84cm) wide and 69” 175cm) high.
Kitchen / Dining Room
The ceramic tiled floor in the Dining Room & Kitchen is grey in colour. There is a beige coloured textured rug in the Dining area. The Dining Room has a table and four upright chairs. There is a two-seater sofa and a dresser. The area is lit by ceiling lights that are controlled by a wall mounted dimmer switch which is 47” (119cm) above floor level. The Kitchen has ample work surfaces, 36” (92cm) high, with cupboards both above and beneath. The cupboards above reach from 57” (145cm) to 72” (213cm) above floor level. These cupboards house glasses, crockery and cooking utensils. The sink and the hob are 36” (92cm) above floor level. The sink taps are 38” (97cm) above floor level. The top door of the split oven is 29” (74cm) high. The bottom door of the split oven is 18” (46cm) above floor level. The grill is within the split oven unit. A microwave is available. The refrigerator is under the work surface with a 3* ice box at 25” (64cm) and the highest shelf at 18” (46cm). The washing machine / drier and dish washer are beneath the work surfaces. The work surfaces take on a ‘U’ formation and the width between the two sides is 46” (117cm). The Kitchen is lit by ceiling lights and kitchen under unit lighting controlled by switches adjacent to the wall mounted dimmer switch (see above) and rocker switches on the under unit lighting 53” (134cm) above floor level. A central heating radiator is fixed to the wall. Leading off the Dining Room is the downstairs lavatory and the door to the rear garden.
Downstairs Lavatory
The width of the door is 28” (71cm) and the height 78” (198cm). The non-slip ceramic tiles are grey in colour. The light pulley is 53” (134cm) above the ground. There is a lavatory (the seat is 172 (43cm) above the floor), a hand-basin (taps 36” (92cm) high) and a step-in shower cubical. There is an 8” (20cm) step into the shower. A ladder style heated towel rail/radiator is fitted. An electric power shaver adapter is available. The largest area of free floor space is 54” (137cm) by 39” (99cm).
Stairs
Beige carpeted stairs lead to a small landing which in turn leads to two bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom. There are eleven stairs each of 8” (20cm).
Landing
The landing floor is covered with beige coloured carpet. Doors to all upstairs rooms lead from the landing. There are two 5” (13cm) steps up to Bedroom One.
Bedroom One
The main bedroom is at the rear of the cottage. The door is 32” (81cm) wide and 78” (198cm) high. The beige carpetted floors have multi-coloured mats on them. There is a 54” (137cm) double bed, bedside tables with lamps, a chair, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, and an additional hanging rail. The airing cupboard is in this room, as are the central heating and hot water controls. They are fixed to the wall 41” (104cm) above the floor. In addition to the window that looks out over the rear garden there are two dormer style roof windows each with blinds. A centre of the mirror fixed to the wall is at 60” (153cm) above floor level. A central heating radiator is fixed to the wall. The largest area of free floor space is 120” (305cm) by 60” (152cm).
Bedroom Two
The second bedroom is at the front of the cottage. The varnished wooden floors have multi-coloured mats on them. The door into this room is 78” (198cm) wide and 29” (74cm) high. There are two single beds each 36” (92cm) wide, a bedside table, a chest of drawers, a hanging rail, and two bedside lamps each controlled by rocker switches. The wall mounted light switch is 58” (147cm) above floor level. There is a free standing full length mirror. The largest area of free floor space is 79” (200cm) by 58” (147cm).
Upstairs Bathroom
The door into the upstairs bathroom is 29” (74cm) wide and 78” (198cm) high. There is a lavatory with the seat 17” (43cm) above the floor, a hand-basin and a bath with a hand-held shower attachment. The hand-basin taps are 36” (92cm) above the floor level. The edge of the bath is 23” 59cm) high. It is approximately 58” (147cm) long and 22” (56cm) wide at its widest point. A wall mounted ladder style heated towel rail / radiator is fitted. The light pulley is 50” (127cm) above floor level. The varnished wooden floor is covered by a white & blue rug. The largest area of free floor space is 56” (142cm) by 36” (92cm). The extractor fan isolator switch is situated on the landing 74” (187cm) above floor level.
Garden
Six 8” (20cm) concrete steps lead up from the level of the back door to the enclosed garden which is partly slabbed and partly grassed. A patio table and chairs are provided. A barbecue is available. There is a bin for disposing of cold ash from the log burner. There is a washing line and pegs are stored in the kitchen cupboards.

There are ample electrical sockets throughout the cottage at various heights.
A Welcome Pack is provided to guests on arrival.
Smoking is not permitted in any area of the cottage.
One dog may accompany guests by prior arrangement.
Rubbish & Recycling – Rubbish collection is on Wednesday morning so kitchen waste bags can be put out either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. We use double black bin bags which are kept in the cupboard next to the back door and put the rubbish out by the front door near the meter cupboard. Recycling depots can be found in Dorchester and Sherborne.
The Main Water Stop Tap is located to the right of the radiator under the front window in the Sitting Room.
The Fuse Box is in the Sitting Room high on the wall by the window. Fuses and spare light bulbs are in the pine dresser.
Public Telephone Kiosk is approximately 400 metres away towards the village centre. Leave Honeysuckle Cottage and turn right (south). When you reach the crossroads turn left and the kiosk is about 250 metres along on the right. It does not take coins.
Church, Shops, Cafes and Public Houses can be found in the village centre.
The Bus Stop for buses to Dorchester is situated between the crossroads and the village centre. (See Public Telephone Kiosk above for directions).
